What’s it about?
The Peter Attia Drive is a weekly, ultra-deep-dive podcast focusing on maximizing health, longevity, critical thinking…and a few other things. Topics include fasting, ketosis, Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, mental health, and much more.
In short, anything related to mental or physical help is fair game. However, Peter Attia holds
in mechanical engineering and applied mathematics so things get really technical, really fast. Making most episodes, not for the faint of heart or casually interested.
I personally listen with the spectacularly well done show notes open for reference.
What should I expect?
A few things:
- As previously mentioned, it’s very technical. Unless you’re already well versed in the terminology used when discussing different cellular functions be prepared to spend a good deal of time googling. Once you get a base level of knowledge things go a lot more smoothly. (Especially if you’re a more casual listener just wanting to stay on top of the most recent science on how to age well and stay healthy)
- Longform x3. Episodes regularly exceed 2 hours so this is not a casual listen on the way to work. I enjoy every minute of the episodes I’ve listened to but it’s definitely a marathon learning session, not a brain teaser.
- Not every episode is focused on physical health. My hands-down favorite episode is an interview Peter did with Sam Harris (here) on mindfulness. So, even if you’re not that into the medical side of things give it a quick scroll.
